p Fiiacipa We have rapidly approached the final days of our first year at Northfield. Many important firsts have occurred during this time— the first day of school, the first football game, the Christmas dance, dedication of our school, the first Northfield Junior-Senior Prom, and most recently, the first Northfield High School Commencement. Our school has been established as a consolidated unit to provide improved and varied facilities for both the youth and adults of the community. We believe that the patrons of Northfield know that education is a primary part of a great nation ' s foundation; to build that foundation, it is necessary that young people acquire certain fundamental skills, habits, and attitudes. Only in this way can they become responsible members of their communities and of their country. I have been privileged to serve as principal of Northfield this year. This has given me a greater perspective of education— its changes and its continuing challenges. To the Class of 1963, and to the future classes of Northfield, may your successes be rewarding.
