The Rambler , ....., ..,,, FRESHMAN CLASS HISTORY In September, 1932, a group of excited Freshmen entered N. H. S. for the first time, to claim the title of Rocks which the Freshman class of 1931 so gra- ciously left us. We are greatly indebted to the Sophomore class for a most enjoyable recep- tion, which took place in the first part of October. Afterlthis pleasant event we felt better acquainted with our schoolmates and the faculty. Before the shock of term examinations was upon us, we had enioyed two parties, the first an annual magazine party, and the second a Halloween party. It has been our pleasure to contribute to many of the High School activities. We assisted in the annual magazine contest, both boys and girls have reported for basket-ball practice, and for orchestra work. One of our most pleasant experiences has been working with Mrs. Whitney and the entire school in the presentation of the operetta, The Tea House of Sing Lo . We were very much saddened at the loss of our dear classmate, Simmone Dubois, who passed away March twelfth. At our first class meeting we chose our class motto, Labor and Conquer. May it be our guide and inspiration to spur us on towards our next goal-Gradu- ation-in 1936!

The R 1 mbler N. H. S. ORCHESTRA This year the orchestra. was composed mostly of new ztilniliers, but we still had seven cf our old members left. There being a better assxrtmznt of instrurnents, the orfliestra was much improved. Of course we must not forget thiit most of this was d ue to our faith- ful supervisor, Mrs. H. A. Vklhitney. Much time and energy we spent practicing for the contest number and also for the All-Ftate Orchestra, in which only the older members played. We will Tf it never fogat how many times Mrs. Whitiiey asked us to play the starch fi'i- taiie over, so that we would be able to play it with a little speed . We have played at a number of outside entertainments and for High School and Graded School graduation. We sincerely hope the orchestra will continue to improve as it has this year.
