The team, led by co-captains Janet Hance and Jean Kinsella, ended their season with an overall record of 8 wins and 'IA losses. Coach Puppe was especially impressed with the team's improvement in offensive fire power. Hard work was important, but this year's team really had special spirit to carry them through their season. They built a terrific Homecoming float and even did a great cheer for the Homecoming pepfest. Traditions were also important especially for the season's initiation breakfast. The three returning letterwinner's QJanet Hance, Jean Kinsella, and Sarah Bensonj got everyone else on the team up and took them to McDonalds for breakfast while they were still wearing their pajamas. Janet Hance received All-Conference Honors. Jean Kinsella was voted All-Conference Honorable Mention as well as Most Valuable Player. The Most Valuable Player Award was given to Brenda Hand and the captain was Jean Skluzacek. All work and no play makes for a very dull team so they broke the routine with several parties. The first being a get to know everyone dinner. The last a come as you are breakfast where seniors gave out awards. One of the new members, Mariko Maeda, was an important and talented addition. She played at the top of her ability this year at the Carleton Great Hall with a Piano Concerto by Grieg. Other orchestra concerts this year were given at the Carleton Concert Hall, the Middle School, and, of course, the High School Gym.
