FROSH FUTURE TEACHERS OF AMERICA Under the guidance of Mr. Sullivan, the freshmen division of our Future Teachers of America Club informs its members about various aspects of the teaching profession, including college preparation, requirements, scholarships, opportunities, salary, tenure and retirement. TRI-HI-Y Open to all Northern Valley girls, the Tri-Hi-Y is a service organization spon- sored by Miss Huber. The members have ushered for several school activities, as- sisted in answering phones for telethons, and attended Tri-Hi-Y conferences. A trip to the Church of All Nations' Neigh-- borhood House, where the girls provided gifts and entertainment for the children, highlighted the year. President: Mary Lee Tate, Vice President: Becky Brooks, Corresponding Secretary: Leslie Nickel, Recording Secretary: Melissa Sutton, Chaplin: Mariorie Stender, Treasurer: Penny Dawson, Historian: Sally Priestly. WRESTLING TEAM This year Northern Valley's department added a new squad to its many teams - a crew of muscle-men. These grunt 'n groaners, who range in weight from 97 to 210 pounds, take great pleasure in heroic tussels - the more rambunctious the better. Here's hoping these boys will really be able to throw their weight around and make a name for Valley next year. 105

STAGE TECHNICIANS The Stage Technicians, assisted by Mr. Ochs, play an important part in all school productions. Activities which in- volve any type of lighting, staging, and sound effects are sure to be a success under the competent management of our stage crew. DRAMATICS CLUB With Mr. Leonard as their faculty advisor, the thirty students in the Dramatics Club explore the various phases of the theater. At the end of the year, they present a drama festival at which they present several one-act plays which interest the entire school. President: Richard McCabe. MODEL AIRPLANE CLUB Organized by Mr. Singer, the Model Airplane Club offers its freshmen mem- bers an opportunity to develop and apply their understanding of aeronautics through group discussion and model air- plane construction. This year the group visited a place of special interest to the boys. 102

X C-J SPANISH CLUB Under the direction of Mr Knott the Spanish Club acquaunts its members with the language and culture of Spain through games and recordings A high light of the year was a trip to New York City to see a Spanish play President Deeann La Valle FRENCH CLUB Seeing movies participating ln French games and songs and taking field trips are malor activities of the French Club This past year they saw a French movie and dined at a French restaurant In New York President Janet Creswick Vice President John Maxon Secretary Bar bara Moles BIOLOGY CLUB Under the direction of Mrs. Berryman, members of our Bio Club gather unusual information concerning the physical make-up of various plants and animals. Several field trips are enioyed each year by this group, but club periods are usual- ly devoted to lecture and discussion sessions.
