BOYS GLEE CLUB Smaller by more than half of the Girls' Glee Club, the Boys' Glee Club was composed of only 24 members. MIXED CHORUS Under the direction of Mr. Brown, and with the accompani- ment of Henrietta Wolf, the Mixed Chorus met twice a week in the Music Room to rehearse all types of songs. Members of the organization were chosen at try-outs early last fall. The Mixed Chorus participated in the Christ- mas and Spring Concerts, and at- tended the All-State Choral Festi- val in the spring.

GERMAN CLUB Mrs. LiCalzi, German Club ad- visor, helped the members ot her club to enioy and understand German. ln March, the members, together with some of the Ger- man class, saw a movie and ate lunch at a German restaurant in New York City. R Smeelings. Seated: C. ENGLISH CLUB Cl07, Mr. Stanewick's room, was the home of the English Club, which met there on Wednesday mornings. This small group was interested in learning more about English literature. Together, they read the classics, including, of course, something by Shake- speare. They spent much time analyzing Hamlet. f 4 GIRLS GLEE CLUB This singing group, one of three this year in N.V.R. was, as its name implied, composed en- tirely of girls. All seventy of these female songbirds met first periods on Monday and Tuesdays, after school. Directed by Mr. Brown, they participated in the Christmas assembly and in the Spring Con- cert. STAMP CLUB Mr. Strohmeyer's Stamp Collect- ing Club may be described as having quality if not quantity. There were lust a few members this year, but they learned much about distinguishing various types of stamps, both foreign and dom- estic. Mr. Strohmeyer, as sponsor of the club, was an invaluable help in teaching the members to appreciate the fascination of philately.
