It is a pleasure to have the opportunity to greet the student body by way of the PASQUE. The Dean of a rapidly growing college finds himself so absorbed in things that must be done now that there seems less and less time to get acquainted with the students. I would assure all of you, however, that the fact of numbers has not changed my philosophy that the most important people on any campus are the students. The task of preparing the optimum opportunity for these students by means of academic courses, well prepared staff, and workable class schedules has been and continues to be the chief concern of the Dean of the College.. By way of reminiscing, it is interesting to note that since assuming the position of the Dean of the College on July 1, 1951, there have been 27 commencements. A total of 4, 767 diplomas and certifi- cates have been awarded, signifying the completion of curricular requirements. This is quite a size- able family, whom I believe, proudly call Northern their Alma Mater. My best wishes to all Northern students, both past and present.
