The freshmen enjoyed bemg 1n1t1ated as much as we sentors enloyed pestermg them We have had many persons from our class honored U1 several ways Nancy K1dney and Tom G1Jl1 land were selected to attend the Governor s Conference lI'1 Harrtsburg on Understandlng Youth and Par ents In the fxeld of sports Bob Carpenter Tom G1ll.1lar1d and Charhe Cornell were found on the basket ball court wlth Clatr Slawson as manager and Bonnle Cole and Ed1th Storey among the cheerleaders We had Rex Reynolds, Larry Dunn Tom Gtlllland and Clalr Slawson on the baseball fxeld and Don Durandetta and Frank Furman on the track team. Representmg us at D1str1ct Chorus were Bonnte Cole Suzie Tomb Tom G1ll11and and Dave Munyon Suzxe was also honored when she was chosen to go to State Chorus Joyce Smtth was the only one elected from our class to attend Dtstrtct Band. On Award Day many members of our class walked off wtth honors The cul.m1nat1on of our goal was realtzed on May ll as we left for Washmgton. Every one of the four days we spent there were ftlled w1th seetng the stghts and enjoytng the many recreattons avatlable. Wh1le v1s1tmg Mount Vernon we caught s1ghtofK1ngBaudou1n of Belglum who was stght see1ng there at the same mme. Men and more men were the mterest of all the gtrls who vtstted Annapolls untll they caught stght of Tl-ll: man Pat Boone. Baccalaureate and Commencement brought our school days toa close wtth a ftnahty that overwhelmed US T116 honor SPG6Ches g1V6Il by Jtm Stewart Saundra Neal and Bonme Cole bore out the meanmg of our class motto 'Courage IS better than fear Falth IS truer than doubt.
