Miss Linda Zavodny, sophomore from Perry, reigned as '63 Homecoming Queen during the annual Home coming activities. Chosen as her attendants were Kathy Waldon, Hominy freshman, and Sylvia Crockett, Ponca City, sophomore.

It LOOKS like an Ag club pledge, it SMELLS like an Ag club pledge, it MUST BE an Ag club pledge! I ITI TIC Ag-worms , Ag-roaches , and Ag-aggies The traditional Ag Club initiation took place for three days on NOIC campus. During this time the gaily bedecked pledges roamed the campus at the mercy of the full-fledge members. They looked forward to shining cowboy boots, collecting auto- graphs, and other such educational activities. She's cute Gary, but what's her name? The initiation came to a clim ax the third evening at a street dance Qpictured at the rightj. But the grand finale for the pledges took place at the Corral after the dance at which time the pledges initiated the members.

MEMQRIE 9 'N i mg' vi'- The Homecoming Queen, Linda Zavodny, was featured on a float built by the fresh- man and sophomore classes. Her attend- ants were posed on either side. It was action all the way at NOJC with the Mav- ericks in Action 1963 homecoming celebration. The homecoming agenda included a morning coffee, an assembly, a luncheon, an afternoon tea, a downtown parade, a football game and a post-game dance. Campus float entries other than the prize win- Second prize went to the Razzettes for their action theme Kick to Victory . Razzette attendants Jeanie King and Sue Cook adorn- ed their float. Engineer Queen Carol Hartley, of Kildare adorns her club's float which earned first place. ners were the Radio-Thespian Club float captioned Military History and the Ag Club action float sym- bolizing the Maverick victory over OMA. Elements adding color and gaiety to the parade were: the Jaycee Jaynes float, the Mavettes drill team, a procession of campus queens, clowns, a shrill piercing steam whistle and seven marching bands. Mavs at Worship was the theme of the third prize winning float sponsored by the Baptist Student Union.
