DEANS OF THE COLLEGE ,L ' DEAN HOWARD R. HAROLD Nd DEAN PEARL RAMSEY fiuqg DEAN HAROLD I. PIPER Howard R. Harold, dean of the college for 20 years, seeks to have personal contact with the indivi- dual students. He is the curriculum director and also directs the guidance program, seeking to pro- vide proper vocational and educational adjustment for all students. Pearl Ramsey, dean of women for 11 years, serves as a personal counselor to each girl on campus. She helps the individual with curricular and extra-curricular difficulties. Dean Ramsey's office is always open and students are welcome at all times. Harold I. Piper, dean of men for 15 years, has the duties of counseling men students enrolled at Northern. I-le guides them in disciplinary mat- ters and encourages good sportsmanship. He is responsible for the housing of students and special aid to freshmen. His office is a clearance point for all student affairs. Dean Piper is also business manager for the college.

EA TERLI G PRESIDENT NORTHERN OKLAHOMA UNIOR COLLEGE Dr. V. R. Easterling, president of Northern since 1953, has established an extensive renovation and building program that has made NOJC one of Oklahorna's grandest schools. A man with great charm and diplomacy, Northern's leader is a devoted educator whose door is always open to stud ents and faculty for friendly confer- ences. The genial p r e sid en t' s interests outside his Wilkin office are widely dive rs i fi ed and include service to his church, public speaking, civic, state, and national organizations, naval affairs and agri- culture. The president's family includes daughters Connie and Verla Sue with Ivlrs. Easterling seated between, and sons Lael and Robert, standing. 5

IMPORT T PEOPLE ON CAMPU Ivan L. Foster is the college registrar who has charge of the enrollment and credit records of stu- dents. Serving in this capacity for five years, he has seen hundreds of freshmen enroll at NOJC. Busy throughout the year with official record work, Foster is an information bureau for the administration, faculty and students. Besides his work in the regis- tration office, he teaches psychology and is mayor of Tonkawa. He joined the faculty in 1930. .' at -i P IVAN L. FOSTER Counselor and adviser to the students at Northern is Ralph Herren who has won a warm place in the hearts of the students by his friendli- ness in accommodating both men and women with personal and academic problems. Herren was named student counselor in September of 1957 and is a faculty member in the social science depart- ment, teaching history and government. His office is located on the third floor of Central Hall. ,f ADMINISTRATIVE COUNCIL ll RALPH HERREN The administrative coun- cil is a faculty advisory group to the administration, elected at the beginning of each school year by the college instructors. The council meets monthly with President Easterling and Dean Harold. Merlin London, chairman is pictured at left. Ron Apple- man, Dean Harold, Olin Walcher and Dean Ramsey are the members of the 1961-62 council.
