GIRLS' GRGANIZATION OF CAREY HALL Carey Hall has once again gone through another year with much success. The social season this year was initiated with decorations, a float, Open House, and the tea for Homecoming. This year we have had regular monthly special dinners, accompanied by quests and appropriate decorations. The Christmas Caroling Party, followed by a dance and refreshments, was enjoyed by all. In April a tea was held for the faculty and their wives. We again held Open House on March 30 for Senior Day. The second semester at Carey Hall was climaxed with the annual spring dinner at which the new officers were introduced and initiated to their offices. This brought to a close another year under the capable guidance and cooper- ation of Mrs. Iames Sherman.

Thirty-three colleges and universities were represented at the conference. On Northern's affirmative team were Glenda Paris and Byron Renz, and on the negative were Don Hakala and David Nelson. The national question for dis- cussion was Resolved: That the United.States Should Adopt a Policy of Free Trade. Byron Renz won first place in the men's division of the Radio Newscasting event at the Delta Sigma Rho Conference.
