Besides the regular business meetings, the group also attends Sunday services at the local Lutheran churches. The L.S.A. also has discussions and movies concerning topics of interest to the students. One such movie followed bv a discussion was-about Lutheran World Action. The group took part in the Homecoming activities and sponsored several outings, including one at the Ishpeming Winter Sport's Area. A Sunrise Breakfast at Presque Isle is an annual event for the L.S.A. V

INTERVARSITY CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP The Intervarsity Christian Fellowship is an international organization with chapters at many colleges and universities all over the world. The chief aim of this inter-denominational organization is to promote the Christian faith. Northern's I.V.C.F. chapter participated in many activities this year. In September they were represented at the conference held at Michigan Tech, Houghton. They sponsored a Back-to-School party, an outing at Presque Isle, and a Christmas party. They also had several special services with guest speakers representing different churches. During the second semester, the Ioint l.V.C.P. Conference with Michigan Tech Chapter was held at Northern for the purpose of discussing problems common to both groups.

NEWMAN CLUB The Newman Club is the campus organization which aims at keeping the Catholic students in spiritual, intellectual, cultural, and social contact with their church. Organized in 1926, the Newman Club is an affiliate of the Newman Club Federation, which is a national association and a part of the National Catholic Welfare Council located in Washington D.C. The Newman Club at Northern recently transferred membership from the Ohio Valley Province to the North Central Province in this area. Regular meetings are held on the campus on the third Tuesday of each month. The Newman Club sponsors Sunday suppers, communion breakfasts, an annual retreat, and other religious and social gatherings. ' - I ev u .am FIRST ROW.
