o f Student Girls' League lluman interests and personal contacts - why read volumes on them when right here is a glorious opportunity to realize what they mean. Our Student tiirls' League has earned for itself a big bouquet by being a merry bunch of girls to whom good times now will mean bright mfemories after they have finished at Northern. llere's why: lfnter a little Freshman girl, lonely, oh so small in the big crowd! No folks to cheer her up, work ahead, no prospects of any fun. llut al- most before she realizes it she is discovered by some big sister, who tells how she is ever so glad to be her friend, and won't it he jolly dressing up for the costume party. So our little Ifreshman is transformed into a quaint Chinee, and after the party she writes home a sunshiny letter, for she's happy. .Xnd that's just the beginning, for the Co-ed party next becomes one of her store of dreams and delights. She has an opportunity to cultivate a bit of swauk -in trousers! No one. herself included, would have thought she could act -- but she could, and did. The Xf oclvil revealed that. lfinally, enter our little lfreshman to a pasty supper in the gym. She comes in with a crowd of girls, all laughing and talking with her. At once the mlusic starts and she is whirled off by one of her friends to the tune of Let a Smile llc Your L'mbrella. llut she doesn't need a smile for protection any more. lt has become spontaneous, and it's such a lark to smile just for fun! So you see, our League is a good thing The Executive Committee for 1927-'28 is as follows: Seniors-Mrs. M. Larson, Grace Wilson. rluniors--lflorence llillings, lflla Olson.
