Kleinfeltcr. Robin Hower, Randy Mease, Kevin Shuey, Jenny Weaver, and Kathy Wenrich advanced to the second round of the Ju- nior Olympics held in Johns- town. Randy Mease, Jenny Weaver, and Kathy Wenrich flew to Fresno, California to en- ter National Competition where they placed 78 103, 61 112, and 87 98 respectively in the National Finals. Individual Boys’ Class Re- cords were made this year in Cross Country. Marsh Mes- simer advanced to second place on the Senior all-time list. Oth- er individuals who made the all- time list were juniors Robin Hower, third: Sheldon English, fifth; sophomores Bill Ramirez, fourth: Dave Markcy, seventh; freshmen Steven Hower, sec- ond; and Jim Hoffer, eighth. The girls made changes too. Junior, Pennie Kleinfelter placed second on the all-time list. Four Sophomores altered the previous record. Beth Dau- bert placed first, Kathy Wen- rich, second; Tina Moyer, third; and Linda Hamlin, sixth. CROSS COUNTRY 23

Obcrdick The boys and girls had successful seasons; the girls had an overall record of eight wins and nine losses; the boys, seven wins and thirteen losses. Millcrsvillc Universi- ty hosted the league meet where the boys placed sev- enth and the girls, tenth in their respective groups of twenty teams each. The Dis- trict meet, held at Milton Hcrshcy's Founders Hall, found the boys finishing nineteenth out of 34 teams, the boys were led by Marsh Messimer (49), Sheldon English (71), and Robin Howcr (96), in a field of 245.
