Chorus: We are proud of Northern Lebanon And our life's one aim will be To hold high the Viking banner Keeping faith and trust in thee. We will always give allegiance To the colors blue and gold And look forward to the future Unafraid, steadfast, and bold. Words — Harlan A. Daubert Gladys B. Hoover Music — Harlan A. Daubert 3 Dedication The class of 1966 is proud to dedicate the 16th edition of the Archive to Mrs. Edna Meyer. Although she is deserving of much more, in this small way we wish to express a token of our appreciation for her devotion, inspiration, and guidance to each of her students both in classroom situations and in everyday community life. During her years of teaching, she has not only given us the knowledge but also the strength to face tomorrow. May her life be enriched as she has enriched ours. Administration 5 High School Supervising Principal Seniors - Please accept my congratulations on your attainment of graduation from Northern Lebanon High School. This honor is just the beginning of your learning cycle which will continue until death. Tolerance and understanding should be- come a part of you. You must establish an evaluation of yourself for all people if you are to succeed in your chosen field of learning. You must develop important truths within yourself and live by them. Your cultural approach to all learning situations must follow the Golden Rule. Prove yourself by example so people may know you and the principles for which you stand. Your responsibilities must go beyond your per- sonal interests. Learn to be a creative adult. The world will honor you if you can show them you are a person who thinks. To be a leader you must set your academic standards high - work to the best of your ability and accept success as a reward for your labor. Harvey L. Nitrauer High School Man's achievements move forward with ever-increasing rapidity in this period of time we refer to as the Space Age . Undoubtedly, the pace of progress will continue to accelerate at an un- believable rate and you, the members of the class of 1966, will in some manner be a part of the tremendous future that lies ahead. You have been given a broad ed- ucation, the foundation for building your future. The degree of success you attain will be largely determined by how well you have prepared your base for achieving future goals and how adaptable you are to change. Throughout your lifetime you will be compelled to adjust to the rev- olutionary changes in our world of work, our professions, our economy and our society. You have been given the education needed to meet the demands of the future. If you fail to use this education and if you resist change, society will whirl by you and you will be left with the relics of the past while the rest of society enjoys the fruits of the present. It is my sincere wish that each of you will successfully meet the challenges of the future and that you will strive to be a most worthy citizen in our great nation. May I extend to each of you my very best wishes. Clarence M. West December 31, 1948 - October 14, 1965 The blow was hard, the shock severe We never thought his death so near. Only those who have lost can tell The pain of parting without farewell. What would we give to hold his hand His loving face just to see His dear smile, his welcome voice That meant so much to us. He little thought when leaving home That he would never return. That he so soon in death would sleep And leave us here to mourn. 70 71 Athletics Soccer Team FRONT ROW: Edward Ludwig, Jerry Zechman, Carl Boltz.
