Sufpewdung pzdvodpal TO THE MEMBERS OF THE SENIOR CIASS You have completed your high school course, but not your education. Whether you accept employment in a factory or an office you will continue to learn. Those of you who enter college or some other school for specia- lized training will follow a more organized schedule for learning. Whatever type of work you engage in, prob- lems arise that require a solution. Each should be ana- lyzed, compared, and evaluated. This process stimulates your thinking, creates new ideas, and adds to the sum total of your education. Welcome difficult tasks rather than only the easy ones and your education will continue regardless of your age. May each of you have the desire, the will power, and the courage to solve all your problems as you meet them. Accept my congratulations and best wishes. Mr. Henry Wenger Pwwcpal TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CLASS OF 1956: The time is almost here when you will don caps and gowns, and with a pleasant thrill of excitement and pardonable feeling of pride, march in the Commencement Procession and receive diplomas attesting your graduation from Northern Lebanon High School. It will have cost the taxpayers of the state and, more particularly, of the local school districts in which you re- side, approximately one hundred thousand dollars to bring you to this important moment. Are your communities justified in this huge annual expense? The answer to this question lies in the future and with you. If you can show the world that you are better men and women because you have received a high school education, no one will ever begrudge a cent of the money spent. The increased generosity with which the public sup- ports the schools would seem to indicate that graduating classes in the past have proved their worth. They have not disappointed the hopes of their parents and friends. And when I read over the roll of this class, stopping for a thoughtful moment at each name, I am convinced that the members of this class, too, will bring honor to the school and credit to themselves. If the other high schools of our country do as well, the future of America is secure. john R. Roberts i
