For we, as we gaze on your rugged strength, That stretches so far in its shadow length, Have measured our love to the top of your towers And the reach of our joy by your dial with its hours. l , W I ' ills,- ,, -17 Nineteen Zilhittcen , - f Mm' winter Qlampuz We lingered each day on the bright autumn campus, Reluctant to give up such colorings rare- 'The mingling of reds, rufous, golden, and yellow, All sobered and blended through hazy blue air. We thought, as we gazed at the meadow and woodland, That nothing in nature with this could compare. But early one morning we came to our campus, And lo-was it magic displayed for us here? A glistening whiteness had mantled each object- The terraces, river, each tree far and near.
