A WORD ABOUT Vic AND VAL When the VIKING Staffdesigned this issue, we first wanted to say some- thing about painting. The building was just painted, and it seemed that this would make a good theme -- freshly painted building and seniors with a fresh outlook on life. The staff had pictures made of scaffolding and designed some pages on the painting theme, Then the staff had anew idea -- the Vic and Val theme. Victor Viking and Valerie Viking were to be selected and photographed. If we picked well known students, the wheels, to be Vic and Val, we would have been criticized. If we picked hooded students, we would have looked foolish, I-low the problem was solved is shown on the page opposite, through an exchange of imaginary memos between the art editor fEdD and the yearbook sponsor QB,O,V,S,J. The organization of the page suggests the problem of organization of a yearbook.
