A .l.ln -..-A 9 Top Scholars-Ranking top position of his class scholastically was Rulgert Fizilka wholwns named Valeclictorian, Pictured above left to right is Robert Fizilka and the three students receiving next HONOR AWARDS Scholastic recognition was conferred upon fifty-three graduates at Senior Honor Award Night held May 25. Robert Fialka held top honors as valedicto- rian, while David Margolis, Ruth Irene Ranville and Virginia Lee Simpson were runners up as salutatorians. High honors were received by eighteen stu- dents who maintained an average of 3.5 up to the salutatorian's average during the three years at Northern. Those with an average of 3.0 up to and including 3.49 were given the dis- tinction of graduating With Honors. These av- erages Were obtained by letting A's equal 4 points, B's three, two and D's one. - Several awards were presented in addition to the scholastic and extra-curricular ones. Among those chosen as the Noroscope went to press were the Daughters of the American Revo- lution Good Citizenship certificate to Virginia Simpson, voted by the girls ot the class to be their DAR girl, one who is outstanding in de- pendability, service, leadership and patriotism and Inter Nos Service Award to Betty Lou Pitts- ley and Robert Fialka, for outstanding service to the school, according to a student faculty com- mittee. Various Elint Iunior College scholarships were also presented.
