Sophomore spirit The Sophomores pulled a strong third in the Mardi Gras contest this year-third place in the as- sembly games, third place in the cart race, and third place for their creation, Phantom of the Opera . Even though the Sophomores placed next to last in total points, they left the upper classmen and teaching staff amazed at their unity, talent, and spirit. They pulled hard to beat the Senior guys in the tug-of-war and jenny Hoover ate her heart out to Win the pie-eating contest. An over-all fantastic showing for the Class of '77!

The juniors scored the Big Blitz this year. The Class of '76 kept the Mardi Gras Barrel in their possesion. Placing second in the assembly games and second in the cart race, the juniors had to place first with their Wall in order to defeat the Seniors and Sophomores. This they accomplished through their creation of the original Frankenstein. Rumor has it that the judges were crooked, but one can never convince a junior of that now. The Sacred Mardi Gras Barrel is in their greedy little paws for another year. Fate pulls Class of '76 1 2 va S3
