May it always be characterized by the indomitable Viking love of conquest but may the future temper it with Southern courtesy, Western chival- ry and Eastern culture. May Northern come to Ik known and re- spected for these qualities as well as for the fighting spirit of the pioneer. May good sportsmanship, and a loving loyalty to the school become an integral part of its ever changing student body. Elmer R.
