The few that saw them practice shook their heads and forecasted a bleak season. But soon things took shape and the Wildkittens won five out of their last eight games. The highest scorer for the year was Teresa Landwehr, with a total of 24 in a game against Madison. The Wildkittens also scored their season high in the same game against Madison. They scored the incredible total of 46. The A team starters were Renee Pearson, Sharon Stinson, Dennise Land- wehr, Teresa Landwehr, and Connie Mitchell. 56 The games continue until the last game. This is it, what all the work and toil has led up to, the successful conclusion of a season. The game is played and regardless of the winner, both groups know that this was it. The teams leave, the doors closed, but the memory of the senior's last game should live on forever. The others will be back next year, but the seniors never will. 57 BOYS TRACK TEAM: Back Row: M. Ken Rhudy, junior, broke Roger An- derson's old pole vault record of 1T6” when he went 12' at the Lyon County meet. Other good performances were Sharon Stinson's 1st in the state in broad jump (18'1 ), 4th in the state in the 100 dash (11.6), Girls' 880 relay getting 4th in state, and Ron Kuhn getting third in the Lyon County meet in Broad jump (19'7”). The faces you saw each day are seen no longer The whispered voices speaking the latest gossip no longer heard The teachers you knew you'd never like suddenly no longer are enemies. All that counts now are memories. Remember the blue lights in Oklahoma Remember the tests we all studied for Remember the trip not taken Remember . . . Remember . . .
