The meeting will begin as soon as Brian quits pickin' his shoulder. The thing to do is keep your nose out of those places. Coach told me to practice chewing gum and walking at the same time. I told ya I could do more sit- ups than you! WANT TO KNOW WHICH ONE OF YOU KIDS PUT GLUE IN MY HAT YESTERDAY. AND WANT TO KNOW RIGHT NOW FACULTY The man who over looks all the activities on the set is Mr. Hargrave. Mr. Reid makes sure the action on the set keeps moving despite any upsets. The members of the board this year are, STANDING: J. Clinton Davies, Franklin Myers, Joe R. Hargrave, Larry Tredway, SEATED: Lawrence Parks, President, Ronald Grother, Ben Price Jr., and Max Davis. THE DIRECTORS THE PRODUCERS A familar face around the set is Mrs. Clara Burri. She is always busy instructing the stars in Sewing I and III, Home Living, Cooking, and Bachelor's Home Ec. She also sponsors the Freshman class. Now we have our Stewer and Brewer, Mr. Bob Masters. While on the set, he manages to take time for his usual daily assignments: World History, Advanced Girls P.E., Citi- zenship, Freshmen P.E., and Psychology. He also coaches Basketball, Football Track, and sponsors the Student Council. A small but important producer around the set is Mrs. Cheryl Prebble. She teaches the stars to speak correctly in her English I, II, III, and IV, and Speech classes. Another one of her duties is to help keep the school spirit up by sponsoring the Pep Club. Mr. James Pykiet is the man who knows the numbers on the set. He tries to pass his knowledge on to the stars in his Algebra I and II, Geometry, Advanced Math, and General Math classes. He is the assistant coach for Football, Basketball, and Track and also helps sponsor the Junior Class. Our Civil War expert is Mr. Don Reid. He takes time out from his other duties to teach American Government and American History. He also helps Mr. Robins sponsor the Senior Class. 21 Our all American Band Leader and Popcorn Popper is Mr. Richard Robins. He attempts, and many times succeeds, to make the stars in his Band, Chorus, and Music Theory classes musical. He also tries to bring up the Grade School Band by pulling their noses three days a week. Mr. Robins is also the sponsor of the Senior Class. A busy producer around the district is Mr. Lynn Roth. In his trips around the district he manages to drop in and teach our stars Spanish. In the southwest comer of the set, over where the sun sets is our mad scientist, Mrs. Suzanne Springer. She is always active teaching the students Earth Science, Life Sci- ence, Biology, Chemistry, and Advanced Biology. She is also the Junior Class sponsor. Mrs. Helen Stiner is the type of director who is always doing something. Aside from her productions: Typing I, Shorthand, Office Practice, Consumer Education, and Bookkeeping she also sponsors FBLA and helps us on the Yearbook staff. Our manual dexterity (Industrial Arts) producer is Mr. Gary Waner this year. He in- structs the stars in Shop I, II, III, Advanced Cabinet making, Mechanical Drawing, and Auto Mechanics. He also sponsors the Sophomore Class and the Photography Club. 22 23 Mrs. Reid is an efficient and cheerful secretary who runs .he business on the set. Our ever faithful Gene Wallace is always there ' when you need him. Gene's after hours helper this year is Charles Mize who helps keep the set clean. Mrs. Dunn and Mrs. Jackson plan and prepare the meals for us stars and producers. Our bus drivers John Hedberg, Cletus Whittington, Mary Lou Jenkins, Charles Wyda, Elsie Place, Leroy Jenkins, Gene Wallace, and Betty Shope get up early to get the stars to the set on time. BEHIND THE SCENE 24 LOOK AT IT THIS WAY— SOMEONE HAS TO PLA Y THE PART OF A FLOWER IN THE CLASS PLAY ACTIVITIES HOMECOMING The 1971 Homecoming was held on October 8th, the night we played Hamilton. When half-time came a- round, Annette Holmberg, a Senior, was crowned as Homecoming Queen of 1971 by last year's queen, Jane Pearson. The other three candidates were Pam Seitz, Mary Spade, and Rhonda Moran, all Seniors. The girls were chosen by the football squad and were escorted by Brian Stinson, Richard Wallace, Gene Wil- kins, Jim Whittredge, and Bill Loveland. After the game, a dance was held in honor of the Queen and King. Jim Whittredge was crowned King by Annette Holmberg. The Christmas Party went off very fine. The halls were decked with tables with holly and pine and many cheerful kids. The US” enter- tained us with their heavy music. After being below budget (in the hole) they came up with a startling new idea in fund raising-a pow- derpuff basketball game for the feminine in heart. The Weight Lifting Team, or like David Blex calls it, A Self Improvement Course , would get together every Mon- day, Wednesday and Friday of every week and go down to heave those ol' dumbbells to build up their physique. The seven guys are Richard Baxter, Jimmy Hannigan, Bill Loveland, Larry Loveland, John Maxfield, Melvin Bishoff, and Clifford Roether. 33 SOUNDS OF THE THE A TER FRONT ROW: Annette H. , Thelma F. , Sharon S. , Jeannie M. , Deana W. , Becky E. , Rhonda M. , Holly D. , Susan W., Elaine S. , SECOND ROW: Sheryl B. , Cindy J. , Carolyn A. , Katherine B. , Janet L. , Mary S. , Jane L. , Suzanne H. , James D. , Joyce B. , Ronnie K. , Cary C. , Mike V. , THIRD ROW: Jane P. , Joleen S. , Karen S. , Scott G. , Brian S. , David B. , Jane L. , Pam S. , Kathy S. , Pam H. , Vesper M. , Peggy W. , Ronnie B. , Ellen S. , FOURTH ROW: Monty H. , Forrest S. , Larry L. , Bill L. , Rick T. , Richard W. , John A. Due to this fact, we were tied for last in everybodies' poll except our own. The first night of the tournament we drew Olpe. Since everyone thought we were going to get last, the team went into the game thinking that we had nothing to lose and everything to win. With a lot of hard work, we beat Olpe 53-44. The next game was against Hartford, a team who had beaten us badly the first game. We beat them 60-56. The last night of the tour- nament placed us against Reading, a team who had beaten us the week before by a score of 54-53. This time we turned the tables on them by beat- ing them 54-53.
