Seniors Polaris Style Show and Tea is staged each year by the Home Economics Department, under the direction of Mrs. Clara Burri. Any girl who has had a year of Home Economics may style a garment she has made. Eight girls entered the show this year: Brenda Richards, Diane Jackson, Vicki McCabe, Alice Wayman and Donna Hase, Seniors; and Glenda Pine, Patty Wallace and Rhonda Newton, Juniors. Construction of the garment, choosing of accessories, and modeling of the outfit are the three main things the girls are judged on. The judge this year was Miss Neosho Fredenburg, Home Demonstration Agent from Morris County. The Polaris Club awards cash prizes to the three top winners of the judging com- petition who, this year, were Alice Wayman, first place, Vicki McCabe, second place, and Diane Jackson, third place. Following the style show, tea was served by the Home Living Class to the guests. The tea and cookies were prepared by Larry Stephenson, Richard Prowell, Ken Kaniper, Steve Pio and Rodney Whitaker, the male members of the Home Living Class. |
