His untimely death in September of 1964 deeply saddened us all. We will all remember his happy disposition and the joy he brought to us whenever we were near him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, 1 say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. i? mm MW B mm Wm em • ? St sSSv? ;- mummmm 2 TO ALL PARENTS I'll lend you for a little while, A 'chile of Mine, He said, For you to love the while he lives And mourn for when he's dead. It may be six or seven years or Twenty-two or three, But will you, till I call him back. Take care of him for Me? He'll bring his charms to gladden you, And should his stay be brief You'll have his lovely memories As a solace for your grief. I cannot promise he will stay Since all from earth return, But there are lessons taught down here I want this child to learn. I've looked the wide world over In my search for teachers true. And from the throngs that crowd Life's lanes, I have selected you. Now will you give him all your love. Nor think the labor vain Nor hate Me when I come to call, to Take him back again? I fancied that I heard them say, Dear Lord, Thy will be done, For all the joy Thy child shall bring, The risk of grief we'll run. We'll shelter him with tenderness, We'll love him while we may. And for the happiness we've known Forever grateful stay. But should the angels call for him Much sooner than we've planned, We'll brave the bitter grief that comes And try to understand. KEN KANIPER Basketball is my favorite sport, but girls are my speciality. JOHN MARCOTTE The less I learn, the less I have to remember. STEVE NEWTON They say love makes the world go 'round. Catch me! Flint Hills Research and Development Program Northern Heights was among the schools in a seven-county area that benefited from a federal grant establishing the Flint Hills Research and Development Program. This program gives basic directions and explanations in the fields of art, music, and drama, and', in general, provides students with cultural enrichment which the schools, individu- ally, cannot afford. Some of the activities include special lectures in music and art, touring record libraries and art displays, films, a concert, and drama productions. Art programs are being set up in the schools under the direction of a traveling supervisor, with the help of faculty members who will aid the students in their art work.
