Class History Admire, Allen, Bushong, andMillerpro- duced the twenty-six freshmen that entered the halls of Northern Heights the fall of 1960. Admire contributed JeanetteMack, Pat Maxfield, Sheila Lindbloom, Selma Brewer, Mary Wayman, Harold Sweet, Mike Hooper, Gene Moser, and Jim Moore. Allen chipped in with Karen St. John, Judy Pykiet, Sally Helton, Margaret Garrett, Bob Davis, and Mike Fitzgerald. Bushong came through with Donna Thomas, Sally Davis, Deanna Baldomino, Elaine Eckel, Dave Pykiet, and Don Johnson. From Miller came Rick Kaniper. Paul Hedberg, and Glenn Fager. We adjusted well with Algebra, English, and Sports. The class officers were: Bob Davis, president; Rick Kaniper, Vice-president; Jeanette Mack, secretary; Sally Davis, treas- urer; Karen St. John, reporter; Donna Thomas, parliamentarian; and Jim Moore and Sally Helton, student council members. 1962 found us racking our brains with Biology and Geometry. Our class gained two new members, Wilma Dunn from Emporia, and Richard Reisen. At the end of the first semester Jeanette Mack left us to be with her parents in Linn. With five weeks of school left David Katzer came from Greeley to join our class. Selma Brewer moved to Burlingame at the end of the summer. The officers for that year were: Karen St. John, president; Sally Davis, vice-pres- ident; Donna Thomas, secretary; Judy Pykiet, treasurer; Jeanette Mack and Rick Kaniper, student council members. In our Junior year Rick Kaniper took charge of the class as president. Other officers were Judy Pykiet, vice-president; Donna Thomas, treasurer; Bob Davis, sec- retary; and Sheila Lindbloom reporter. Pat Maxfield and David Katzer were student council members. Christmas cards sales provided us with the money for our prom Showboat held May 11, 1963 in the gym. The stage served as our Showboat veranda. Our main deck was the gym floor. The color scheme was red, white, and blue. Don Kyles' combo pro- vided our musical entertainment. Our Junior class sponsored a play entitled Cheaper by the Dozen by Frank and Ernestine Gilbreth. Our class at the end of our Junior year had lost three members and gained one. Richard Reisen and Gene Moser left before the end of the first semester and Wilma Dunn transferred to Emporia at the end of first semester. In March Larry Miller joined us from Neosho, Missouri. Rick Kaniper was re-elected president for our final year. Sally Helton was vice- president; Sheila Lindbloom, secretary; Judy Pykiet, treasurer; and Paul Hedberg, reporter. We sold magazines that netted us a profit of $500. At the end of the first semester Mike Hooper left to live in Junction City. The seniors sponsored a night of one act plays directed by Harvey Harriman. They were: Box and Cox , Last Straw , and Two Crooks and a Lady. For the twenty-one members of the graduation class of 1964 this is only the beginning. Their futures are bright and their goals are high.
