President ' s Message . . . education haJ It is a pleasure to extend congratulations to all members of the senior class. As you go forth from Northeastern, you join : 3,000 other Northeastern graduates who comprise a very important part of America ' s greatest resource — her educated men and vomen. You have received an excellent education for the times in vhich you live, but you must realize that it is much less complete for the times in which you live than vas the edu- cation of most previous generations in relation to the times in which they lived. Rno vledge is expanding at a rapid pace, pointing up dramatically that education has no destination. It is a continuous, endless road that we must travel all our lives. You are fortunate indeed that you are educated in those fields of knowledge in vhich Northeastern specializes. They include the fields of knowledge of great importance in today ' s world and lead to careers and professions which are critically short in supply. Northeastern kno ' S that it has your loyalty and devo- tion. This uni ersity — your Alma Mater — has a great destiny yet to fulfill. It is counting on you to join with the thousands of other loyal alumni to assist Northeastern to become one of the great universities of the free vorld. The challenge to you is to make the most of your oppor- tunities and to use your talents and education to serve your nation and the cause of freedom. May God instill in each of you a passion of excellence. I have every confidence that Northeastern graduates will meet the challenge.
