In this 50th year of Northeastern, we, the class of 1950, dedicate with pride the 26th Volume of the Cauldron to PRDFESSDR EVERETT C. MARSTON ..... who, for fifteen years, has been an untiring worker and an inspiration tD Cauldron Boards. Professor Everett Carter Marston, endowed with the warmth and simple dignity of a natural teacher, has heen a good friend whose advice, sympathy and sense of humor have meant much toward the successful conclusion of our college careers. Professor Marston is a native of New Gloucester, Maine, where he graduated from High School in 1920. Remaining in his home state he major- ed in English at Colby College, where he received his Bachelor of Arts De- gree in 1924. After graduation he was employed in the educational section of a pub- lishing house. Later, he took graduate work at Harvard and was awarded his Master of Arts Degree in 1932. He was appointed a member of the Northeastern University Faculty as an Instructor in English in 1927. In 1932 he was named an Assistant Professor in the English Department and in 1944 an Associate Professor. Professor Marston is faculty adviser to the News and has been faculty ad- viser to the Cauldron since 1935. Respected and highly admired by students and faculty alike, he has contributed generously toward mak- ing our stay at the University a pleasant one.
