Galen David Light On June 30, 1943, Mr. Galen D. Light retired from his position of Secretary- Treasurer of the University. Although few students had any direct association with Mr. Light, he was a familiar and respected campus figure. He will be missed particularly at Commencement, where for years graduating Seniors received their diplomas from his hands. Mr. Light had been a part of Northeastern since 1901. After serving as Registrar, he became Bursar in 1908, Secretary of the University in 1916, Secre- tary of the Board of Trustees in 1920, and Treasurer of the University in 1932. Representing not only the Class of 1944 but all Northeastern men, the Cauldron Board hereby pays its tribute to one of the builders of our University. 23
