P' The show must go on Entertainment, a great American pastime, is still a major part of students' lives at NSU. And the high performance groups of Arts and Letters kept audiences spellbound at every turn. Music, song, and dance joined forces under the banner of the River City Players and captivated crowds with music of the '50s and '6Os. The drama department also drew crowds with their productions of Heartbreak House and Agnes of Cod, The Deviners and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. For the first time, lana Pokorny's dance students tripped the light fantastic as they showcased their talents and versatility. There were many concerts in both fall and spring featuring the Entertainers and the jazz Ensemble. Not to be left out, the Concert Band found itself spotlighted by an appreciative audience. Audiences and students frolicked through the traditional Boares Heade Feaste in December in a style reminiscent of 16th Century England. And guests were fascinated when 10 very young japanese children performed classical works as part of the Suzuki Violin Talent Education Tour. A SISTER TEAM, the Sweethearts gained some loyal fans from their performance at NSU. Singing Midnight Girl are Kristine Arnold and lanis Gill, guitarist.
