Only the best The university understands its role like no other. It serves the students while they're at NSU and continues after gradua- tion. Continuous improvements were made to ensure all had a good time. A concern for student safety at night led to the erection of 60 lampposts. The Cam- pus Connection project modeled the lights after the original coal-fired lamps from Northeastern's past. In December, the Alumni Association announced its intention to construct a Ge- orgian style Alumni Center and began a campaign to raise a quarter of a million dollars. The center will house the execu- tive offices of the Alumni Association and provide multi-purpose space for alumni functions and overnight accomodations for alumni and guests to the campus. At the Playhouse, audiences enjoyed the comfort of new-but-not-new seats - actual- ly they are 80-year-old antiques com- plimenting the theater's old-time look. Rosamund House was the first product of a plan to renovate the area surrounding the campus. The structure was rebuilt and furnished to reflect the time period in which it was constructed. With all the improvements it was appar- ent why students picked the college whose play area was the Ozark foothills and backyard was the Illinois River. -lLli'I Og. 0664 ,',,NA 06444 ,' A, .060 ,qi 5.0.0.4 0 A, ...Ge fat 5 4 A..
