Northeastern State College, located in the beautiful surroundings and her- itage of the Tahlequah area, is a school of higher education. lt's a place where students come to have fun, meet peo- ple, get a sound education and per- haps learn something about the world through community interaction. NSC is spiced with numerous differ- ent types of people and cultures. Cen- tered in the tribal seat of the Cherokee Nation, Tahlequah mixes the back- grounds of those of Indian, Black, Cau- casian and other descents. To further break it dovvn the school also brings in sub-cultures of those of the small, country communities and neighboring large cities. NSC is a college awaiting the stu- dent body to become involved. Organ- izations are open to all and are diversi- fied so as to offer each student some- thing compatible to his chosen study field. ' NSC projects many different images to the people of the area and its stu- dents. To most it is a college rich in heritage, rich in experiences and rich in a good educational atmosphere.

A 1 F 4' College life offers the individual a time to express his idealism, his hopes, his uniqueness. It's a time for growing and building up and too often for tear- ing down. A time to cultivate personal relationships among fellow students and a time to develop those ideas which will lead the world in the direc- tion of peace. Or disaster. It's a time for blind hope and strivings which sometime end in sorrow. It's a time for success, honor and joy. It's a time for creating a oneness with self, God and humanity in hopes of catching but a brief glimmer of truth and realism. But much more than this, college is a good time.
