Meistersingers The Meistersingers is a select group of sixteen to eighteen singers who are chosen through private audition from the College Chorus of approximately 100 members. Many of these students are music ma- jors and are on vocal scholarships, although this is not a requirement. The Meistersingers perform many times throughout the year for high schools, civic organizations, and various other programs throughout the four state area. The object of this performing organization is to give the outstanding singer the opportunity to perform all types of choral music. | Clark Dugger Director Be ee a se ; : Meistersingers, back row, from left to right: John Webb, Tom King, Randy White, Lenny Williams, Terry Holden, Jim Reynolds, Steve Whitesell, and Dean Carder. A confrontation of advocates, such as one finds in debate tournaments, affords excellent training in argumentation. The presence of op- position stimulates the participants to greater endeavor and compels them to consider both sides of the question. The real issues are more likely to develop if both sides are represented by carefully prepared advocates. The presence of such opposition motivates greater con- sideration of the logical adequacy of evidence and reasoning. The rules of debate, furthermore, promote the obser- vance of certain standards of decorum which keep the controversy within bounds and insures to both sides a fair hearing. MEMBERS: John Hartman, Mark Brant, Terry Holden, Joe Reinheardt, Reed Rohmiller.
