DEDICATION MR. MERRILL CHANEY This college annual is affectionately dedicated to Mr. Merrill Chaney, long time vocational- technical teacher at the Northeastern A M College. Mr. Chaney has two degrees, a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Master of Science Degree from the Kansas State Teachers College at Pittsburg, Kansas. He has additional graduate work at Oklahoma State University. Before coming to Northeastern A M, where he has been for the past twenty-one years, Mr. Chaney was Principal at the Hiattville, Kansas Grade School, industrial education teacher and coach at the Cherokee, Kansas High‘School, and industrial education teacher at Riverton, Kansas High School. In 1965 Mr. Chaney was selected as “The Teacher of the Year in Industrial Education” for the northeastern section of Oklahoma. His outstanding achievements have primarily been in the region of his leadership in the Miami Lions Club. During these productive years at the Northeastern A M College, Mr. Chaney has held nearly every position in the Miami Lions Club and, in addition to being presi- dent of the group, was also District Governor of the Lions 3-0 during 1959-60. He serves as International Counselor of the Lions International and is on many of the Lions Club state and national committees. The Lions of Miami have honored him by naming one of their parks the Lion-Chaney Park. Mr. Chaney has been active during this time in the First Methodist Church of Miami where he is on the Board of Stewards and past president of the Methodist Men’s organization. SL ee
