SHIPLEY HALL English classes involve all students who enroll at Northeastern A M. Classes stress the ability to communicate as an essential for all students who plan a college career. Shipley Hall houses the English, Speech, Drama, Mathe- matics, Drafting, Journalism, and Social Studies depart- ments. The library and administrative offices are also located in the building. After completion of the Vocational- Technical Building and Library-Administration Building, it will house only English, math, journalism, and social studies. aA mith Y War tyto= (e Be packed Mathematics plays an important role in the student’s cur- riculum since this is a scientific age. Northeastern’s math department is recognized as one of the leading depart- ments for preparing the student adequately.

One of the newest student housing units on the campus is Vann Hall. This modern and beautiful building is the home of 200 women students during the school term. Opened in the fall of 1965, the dormitory is an attraction quickly noticed by guests and students on the campus. The unit was named in honor of Miss Faye Vann, an instructor who devoted forty-one years of her life to Northeastern A M. Vann Hall is completely air-conditioned and equipped with the most modern con- veniences. Each floor has a lounge in which students may relax or study. The basement affords a game room. Each room is filled with modern furniture. Vann Hall isa pleasant building in which to live, with its clean and ultra-modern atmosphere. The hostess is Gladys Purvis.

Drafting is an essential part of the engineering and vocational-techni- cal fields. Students receive profes- sional training and supervision in this area. TECHNICAL | COMMSE Se... Welding is recognized as an essen- tial in the vocational-technical field. Not only is this essential as a col- lege field, but it has provided a training element for government pro- grams. HERE VOIDS gece cee SuMereiKeEs Bears Machine tooling is one of the areas of study offered a vo- cational-technical student. Also, training has been pro- vided for government spon- sored students.
