Counseling has been one of the strong qualities that has made Oren Need an outstanding instructor. Oren Need is easily recognized by his favorite transportation, his jeep. This day his jeep was chained to a tree so it would be waiting when he finished his work. Not all work is done in a comfortable classroom. Some must be done outside, even though the weather is not always favorable.

4 editatinn OREN NEED: A GREAT EDUCATOR The personality that is Oren Need's is seldom contained in a single individual. The qualities that are so much a part of him include a great desire for learning, the ability to master the subject material, and to impart this knowledge to others. The day or night does not contain the hours that students who, having diffi- culty with an assignment, have sought and received assistance in his office or his home. The result of these qualities is legend; those students who have served under him continue in other institutions of higher learning and achieve. But this man is more than a teacher; he is an institution man. His loyalty to Northeastern Oklahoma ABLM College has been far beyond the call of duty. The Engineering Club under his guidance and direction has been one of the outstanding organizations of this or any other school. No homecoming would be complete without his marshalling the parade, and certainly the parade itself would be lacking without his guidance and direction in promoting the engineering float. This man is an inspiration not only to the students but to the college. His cheerful attitude, his great zest for living make him loved and respected both on and off the campus. The administration, the faculty, and the students consider it an honor to serve with such a man and to dedicate with great pride The Viking to him.
