GENEALOGY Northeastern High School stands on the land which was part of the original Campau estate. Pictured below is Gregoire Campau and his family. Gregoire is the uncle of Gabriel Chene II. As you can see, his family is dressed in the costumes of the day. As shown in the picture, Gregoire wore a full beard but no mustache. Jean Baptiste Campau found himself with an embarrassing amount of unpaid bills. Once wealthy, the gentleman had nothing left .except 212 acres of land.
