After tallying the points, the judges chose ten finalists: Nancy Barron, Tammy Bass, Wanda Bobo, Candy Elam, Jan Grissom, Cindy Gunn, Angela Lawrence, Leeza Mills, Tammy Scott, and Debra Wofford. Among the beauties themselves, the winner of the sportswear and evening dress apparal was selected. The winner of the two was Miss Nancy Barron. The Master of Ceremonies was Olin Morris, TV personality with WREG-TV, Channel 3, Memphis. The organist was Mr. Bryan Essary and entertainment was provided by Miss Lady Anne Stone, Mr. Terry Hurt, and Mr. Bobby Carter, all Northeast students.
