Mr. Basketball ' Doug, Law Breaking the Western Conference scoring record with 452 points for a single season is only one of Doug Law's many achievements. His 787 points for two seasons set another re- cord. This huge point production helped Northeast to average 65.6 points per game against opponents' 60 points during 1958-59, and 71.7 points per game against opponents' 59 during 1959-60. With a total of 1,279 points, the Vikings easily led the way in Conference scoring during the 59-60 campaign. Doug showed his versitility by leading the team in another de- partment-rebounding-which is at least as important as scor- Another tap-in for 33. The Western Conference ing. He set an all time record of 38 rebounds in a single game. fThe team high is 84 for one game.1 Quite naturally, being a leading scorer, leading rebounder, and leading de- fensive player brought Doug several much deserved honors. He has been named to the All City and All Conference teams for two years in a row, and is the first Viking athlete to be named to an All State unit. TRACK TEAM The i960 track team, loaded with outstanding sopho- more talent, started the season slowly but finished in fine form.
