VIKING BASKETBALL I Manager Sid Jackson, Coach Lee Beniamin, Manager Fred Brown, Page One Hundred Ninetyfight The Viking Basketball team for T959-60 enioyed a very successful season, bringing Northeast the City Championship and a second place tie with Manatee in the Western Conference race. Counted out of the running several times during the season, the Vikes fought back and came within one game of the Conference Championship, with Doug Law and Don Palmer, two of the Conference's top scor- ers, Ieading the way. A trip during the Christmas holidays saw the Vikings prove their worth by beating Daytona Beach Seabreeze and Fort Lauderdale Stranahan, two Of the state's top basketball powers. The district tournament proved to be another heart- breaker, with the number one seeded Vikings losing to Boca Ciega in the semi-finals.
