in NORTIIEASTB 'A s Jun: l928 ,Ll na! xg-f + f The Class Htstory O most of u as we look baek over the span of four yeirs it seems as only yesterday when we entered the portals of the sehool that h as beeome so dear to us Our numbers greatly dlmlmshed until we about one fourth of the Oflglllll group llone stlnd by the nehxeved goal The greatest scholastle mortallty oeeurred durlng the first term but after thtt we as a whole braeed up and resolved to obtain some knowledge even though it d1d eUSt some mental effort One day namely the 10th of September 1974 th1s present griduatlng elass assembled for the hrst time ln the never to be forgotten Morrison Hall This edifice seemed to us a marvelous structure with a wonderful seatlng capaclty and we even doubted whether myone eould mike hlmself heard ln the last row of seats But after hearing our we tk voleed Mr Braehhold speak our doubts were dlssolved by a greater understandlng of the superstrueture and we arrived at our one conelusion namely that he would make a great traffic eop Thxs 1nd1v1dual after the Blble had been read by Dr Stradhng gave us the rooms to which we were asslgned for our rosters Then ensued the grand seramble and se treh Fmd the Button or other such games had nothlng on th1s We wandered through a masslve labyrmth of rooms to whlch there seemed no possible end Then to our dlsmay we fmally found ourselves wanderlng in circles W1thOUt arrlvlng at our destmatlon There was lmmedntely a ehange in tactles and fmally our goal was attamed In these rooms asslgned rosters were reeelved over whleh a Chmese puzzle had an advantage After the first week however the affa1r was stralghtened out and there ensued a term bound by hard knocks and filled wlth pranks on the part of the upper classmen Lunch room seat tickets and tlckets for admittance to room 107 were sold freely to our green elass And the affair 1n whlch we most prlded ourselves after the first few weeks was that we were able to travel to the office wlthout getting lost But the demon of all was Gym and h1s ass1stants were 1n the forms of Messrs Relchelt and Zwarg Under thelr tutelage we were able to become monkeys on the ropes and even by threaten IDQS of the latter learned the meanlng of the words d ek el full And finally m order to have a posslble chance of passlng Ih1S subjeet some of our amb1t1ous eomrades deelded to make or at least try for the teams In th1s manner many of them were chosen for the deslred berths and arded us ln brlnglng home ehamplonshlps and ex entually the eoxeted Morrlson Trophy Durlng the second term of our stay at Northeast Gym came easler and most of us had ellmbed out of the baby class Those who d1d not were in most cases 1nsp1red to harder work and thus obtamed thelr end However the next year we became nearly unbearable to our underclassmen HaV1Dg graduated to longles and the Sophomore C'lass had sort of affected our mmds but th1s dlsease of the cerebral protuberance was soon cured Moreover our second Revue was a howling success partly due to the efforts of some of our OVCIHHXIOUS classmates who alded xt by thelr beautlful soprano VOICES fln most cases sultable for bass parts only, and wonderful glrl l1ke shapes Here also those who admlred John Barrymore and the 1m1tat1ons of his style made their debut From th1S t1me on followed the usual humdrum l1fe the monotony of whlch was broken by few events Student government took 1ts stand study halls were conducted rather successfully by Senlors and the Student Counc1l contlnued 1ts work Three Soccer teams each a champion of IIS respective league were brought to llght about thlS t1me and IH addltlon Northeast had a champlon Basketball team A dinner was glven to the for tunate athletes who rece1ved thelr letters th1s bemg one of the ways in whleh the school showed 1ts appreclatlon Then came the junior Year Wlth the enjoyable C' Class The Class Officers were WOfth1Hg ton presldent Colehower v1ce presldent Seberhagen Seeretary and Coulbourn treasurer Great eredlt lb also due to the exeeutlxe L0ll1IlTllll.k eomposeel of Hut lvlinelell Rothbardt Wet el Weber Hlhn Meuller md bolelstem Mr NV Weslex Stexenson was also eleeted the Class Aelxlsor Nmeteen 9+ x - f - -1 - - .ew-K X' V 1 We Ti 7 1R61 QQ I , ,., 1 .':-191' , an 1...,.,, - 1 N., 'Fig I -Q an ,..,,, 1.
