Principal Since becoming a Viking last October, I have enjoyedconsiderableC0Op6r211Li0H and support from the staff, the student body, and from our parent organizations. This support is deeply appreciated. Two major changes have occurred this year which have had impact on the school, the departure of Willie Giles, who as princi- pal guided Northeast several years dur- ing the decade of the 4'70's, and the movement of the Freshman class back into the building, thus boosting the enrollment by approximately 500, adding more staff members, and bringing about additional programs. Recognizing that it takes adjustments and time to overcome the anxieties, apprehen- sions, and fears often associatedyvith changes of this magnitude. I want to assure you that given the well-qualified and dedicated staff that we have, and with the continued cooperation and sup- port of the student body, that Northeast will move forward. So as we progress through the remainder of this school year and into the decade of the '80's, let us continue to dedicate ourselves as a school familyto the issues of improved achievement, improved atten- dance, and improved human relations. Let's commit ourselves to the pursuit of educa- tional excellence. v My XR Stephen Brown I To the Class of 1980, I congratulate you 5 as you near the culmination of your high f1 N school years.
