Ronnie Bond President Ray Cousins Vice-President Madeline Montesano Giftorian J§ ntiar (©fftcers The falling leaves, the added coolness in the air — these things ushered us into the new school year, our senior year. To us it was unbelievable because we didn’t feel like seniors at all but 1500 un- derclassmen seemed to think we were so off we went. Important events were many this year and each of them came so fast that we didn’t have time to catch our breath before the next one was here. The football and basketball games, the wonderful school spirit at a new high this year, our responsibilities as officers, the dances, Lit Night, the Senior Prom, and finally graduation — all these things combined to make a wonderful year for us and one which we hate to leave behind. ton As we leave Tpou Dear” with our hopes and dreams of the future, the Seniors of North- east High School will always remember the de- votion and achievement of one of our outstand- ing faculty members, Mr. George Calvert, as the senior class advisor. He has given hit un- selfish efforts to make each year a successful one for the Seniors. He came to Northeast in 1931 as a teacher of physiography, chemistry, and biology. He has been assistant football coach, chairman of the arrangements committee, executive sec- retary of the National Honor Society as well as Senior sponsor. Mr. Calvert also served as the photographer for the Nor1 easier in 1946. His loyalty and school spirit have been an out- standing example in leadership to the faculty and to the students. And so to you Mr. Calvert, for your service to us and to our school, we respectfully dedicate this, our Nor’easter of 1961.
