STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council is comprised of a small group of students representing the ideas and opinions of each individual at Northeast. At the beginning of the school year, each home room selected one mem- ber to participate in this student govern- mental body. In order to facilitate greater ease in handling special tasks,, various committees were organized on which every representative served. A few of the activities undertaken dur- ing the year were, decorating a float on which the queen candidates rode in the Homecoming Parade, the collection of funds by the Civic Committee for a Christmas Care project, sending $164.12 for needy children in Korea. By far the most noteworthy achievement of the stu- dent Council was the development of the Northeast Youth Community Council which was organized co-operatively by Northeast and Glennon high schools. Those who had a part in the Student Council projects this year have certainly done much to improve our school, not only in appearance, but also in the atti- tude and spirit of her students. Thanks, Student Council, for a job well done! Student Council Officers: Bill Graves, Reporter; Herbert Antrim, Sgt. at Arms; Joyce Crockett, Treasurer; Dick Clark, President; Joe Gialde, First Vice President; Doralee Miller, Second Vice President; Susan Shotliff, Secretary. 30
