Of the various activities which take place during this period, the reading of the bulletin ranks first. This enables the adminis- tration, organizations, and faculty to convey the news of the special activities of the day as well as coming social events, club meetings, and athletic contests. Each group elects officers to conduct and preside over the homeroom business. This in- cludes electing student council representatives, collecting money for various causes and elect- ing the junior and senior class officers. At various times throughout the year, the homerooms are visited by students selling the school paper, the yearbook, and tickets for such school events as the All-School Show, Spring Play, and athletic contests. Taking part in the activities that are planned for the homeroom develops a sense of responsibility in the student and also pro- motes good citizenship. 911332 K1 Iflill' ' 3 X '51

A. ponsors Many Fine Activities Take a common goal, a lot of good cheer, a willingness to work, a great deal of time and devoted effort, and you come up with the Northeast P.T.A. This year the P.T.A. has spent many hours devoting their services to sponsoring polio shots, selling Easter seals to fight Tuberculosis, and sewing for Mutual Help Drives. For the enjoyment of the student body, the P.T.A. backed the annual Junior-Senior Prom and 16 helped with the plans for the Graduation ac- tivities. The object of the P.T.A. is to promote che welfare of children everywhere, to secure ade- quate laws for their protection, to raise the standards of home life, to bring a closer re- lationship between their home and school, and to give their children stronger spiritual, educa- tional, and moral advantages.
