Facult Uur Teachers Encouraged and Helped Us The members of the Northeast High School faculty have many duties to perform during each school day. Even with a very busy teach- ing schedule, the instructors take time out to help a student who is behind in his work or who needs additional training in order to go on to college. There are many ways in which an idea may be expressed in order to get it across to the minds of the students, and the Northeast faculty seems to know most of them. A funny story, a laboratory experiment, or a diagram on the blackboard may be used to explain the answers to what might other- wise be perplexing problems. The teachers support the school activities in various ways. Besides teaching classes, many of them find time to sponsor a club, society, or some other extra-curricular activity. Almost all of them could be seen lending their moral support to those who were performing in sports events and school programs. Dwight Adcock Science Human Science Ellis B. Our faculty does a very good job of this by working with the P.T.A. and by talking to parents who inquire about their children's grades and conduct. At no time in the life of a boy or girl is there a greater need for this cooperation than during the high-school period. Every member of the Northeast faculty has completed his requirements for being a teacher by graduating from a special school, college, or university. They are still trying to increase their knowledge, however, by doing graduate work during the summer. Many of them also avail themselves of the opportunity to study or travel during the summer. The students at Northeast feel that our teaching staff is interested in them and that it is doing its utmost to help them obtain a good hlgh school training. A-.x ia 11
