We Have Reached the Foothills 9 This year's senior class was distinguished by many honors. The mayor of City Hall Day, the second place winner of the State American Legion Oratorical Contest, the first- and third- place winners of the city-wide D.A.R. Citizen- ship Contest-all were Northeast Seniors. Out of the four hundred sixty-six in the class, thirty-four were elected to the National Honor Society. Many were given special awards or college scholarships. 9 Ordering announcements and name cards- exchanging stamp pictures - getting those 18 long-awaited class rings-creating, producing and enjoying the senior assembly-eagerly Waiting for the outcome of the senior ballot- voting for class officers-daring to hope for that scholarship to a favorite university- stuifing themselves at the senior luncheon- having the last dance at the Prom-saying good-bye to their junior friends-feeling the inspiration of the baccalaureate sermon-try- ing to swallow the lumps in their throats at graduation-all these are a part of the memo- ries that the 1955 seniors will treasure in the years to come.
