JUNIOR CLASS OFFICERS - Buck Row: John Neely, Sergeant at Arms, joe ' Sacamano, Giftoriang John Calia, Vice- Presidentg John Spanbauer, Reporter. 0 Front Row: Sharon McConnell, Secre- taryg Jim Hawk, President, Jill Rogers, Treasurer, Mrs. Bell, Adviser Absent. Junior Class Prepares for Road Ahead 9 Our school career can be compared to a journey, the road of which winds about the disappointments and the joys of life. As we reached our high school years, we had only be- gun our journey, and the road ahead was per- ilous, curving sharply about the steep grades. In our remaining year, We shall follow the road over its most difficult course, reaching for the high plateau of our Senior year. As freshmen we began our journey. We were fearful of the long road, but we accepted it without question. Our time was occupied with books, dreams, and laughter. We began to plan our lives and make decisions of our own. Then we became sophomores. We considered ourselves more important citizens, for we pos- sessed greater freedom. When the thrill of being upperclassmen was at last ours, We became aware of a world that we should help dominate. The memory of the secrets, fun, and friendships that we shared 16 deepened as we realized that tomorrow we should begin the long climb upward. Tomor- row we should be Seniors. We dread the English and Math tests, laugh at our many mistakes, contribute our ideas to the Junior Class, and wait with happy expecta- tion for the day when we shall order our Sen- ior rings. 0 We have traveled a long way, looking for- ward to our final year. We are ready to follow in the footsteps of the classes whichjhave pre- ceded us, and we hope that we shall bring honor to Northeast. 9 When we walk through the deserted halls the last week of the school year, we shall be aware of the path which lies ahead, with its many responsibilities that will soon be ours. With high spirits and high ideals, we prepare for 1954 when we shall accept with dignity the rank of SENIORS.
