Driver training has now become an important part of our school curriculum. The course is taught for one semester, limited to a maximum of fifty stu- dents vvho spend two days each week in class, studying their manuals on different phases of safety. One day of each Week a student drives a training car, which is pro- vided through the Automobile Club and the Union Chevrolet Company. The car is dual controlled, so that when the student drives, the instructor is able to take over quickly in an emergency. The course teaches techniques and skills in handling a car, as Well as traffic safety. 25
