T. A. sponsored tuberculosis tests, sold seals for the fight against T.B. and cancer, sewed for Mutual Help, and held many night meetings. Coach E. A. Markey's Men's Activity Night enlivened the Ianuary meeting, While a panel discussion, What do you know about your P. T. A.? was featured at the February Foun- ders' Day meeting. At the Family Museum Nights, members of the P. T. A. had gay times on the treasure hunts, made guided tours, and became better acquainted with each other. democracy stressed in homeroom period There goes the bell to end homeroom. Why do we devote twenty minutes of every busy school day to homeroom? One answer is that this period presents an excellent op- portunity to train students in democratic pro- cedures. Here ofiicers are elected, informative bulletins are read and discussed, and con- tributions tor charity drives are collected. Periodically programs for special occasions and holidays are given for the training as Well as for the enjoyment of the group. Often an ill student is cheered by a friendly card or note sent by his homeroom. Through these and many other activities, the students learn the importance of team- Work and co-operation.
