Of course l'm confused, who wouldn't be with all the new experiences l've had? My title now is the disgusting name sophie, at least the upper-classmen delight in flinging it at me. The first days of enrollment passed quickly after the meaning of 4-2, 3-3, and 3-2 courses was explained to me. Then the great problem of deciding whether Latin or algebra was the easier subject was solved-l took them both. I soon made friends of the office force after lingering too long in the halls and tb-eing faced with the prospect of obtaining an admit. By the way, I shortly discovered the use of excuse cards, locker permits, and tardy slips, They surely come in handy, don't they? You know what, we have self government. The student council makes laws and they are carried through by represent- atives from the home rooms. lf you're not too ignorant and put some elbow grease on your home work, you are sure to land on the honor roll. This is something to work for l mean to tell you. Then there is a system of continuing your favor- ite subject beyond the classroom by joining a club. l learned more and had the opportunity to add some real fun to the daily monotony by means of the social events. The first year has gone and with it my puzzled expres- sion, for now l'm a knowing Junior lying in wait for thefnew batch of sophomores. Ask me something, anything at all, l can answer it. That's right, l'm the timid sophomore grown up into the amazing junior you see before you. l got the literary urge early in the year, so l became a member of the Courier staff, our weekly newspaper. l've put in my bid for an editor's berth on the Nor'easter staff. Did you see the Viking Varieties? That's the annual show composed of Northeast's most talented stu- dents and believe me, it was solid! Right here goes a plug for the band, orchestra, and vocal music department, they certainly gave out at assemblies with grand entertainment.
